About Ramanathaswamy Temple
Lord Ram consecrated this Shiva Linga before crossing to Lanka to rescue Sita. Located on Pamban Island, it has the longest temple corridor in India — 1,212 meters with 1,000 pillars. A visit here on a Char Dham pilgrimage is considered immensely meritorious.
