1. Information We Collect

From app version 1.9.0 onwards, we do not collect personal information. The app requires no account and no sign-in, and we never ask for your name, phone number, email address or date of birth. If you are on an earlier version, see section 6 below.

When you first open the app, your device generates a random Device ID. It is not linked to you, to any account or to any contact detail, and it is removed from your phone when you uninstall the app. Against it we store only your notification (bell) preferences, which streams you have opened, your daily darshan streak, your chosen language, and your notification token so alerts can be delivered.

We also collect anonymous usage statistics that cannot identify an individual.

2. How We Use Your Information

To show content in your chosen language, to send the live stream notifications you have asked for, to keep your darshan streak, and to understand in aggregate which content is useful so we can improve the app.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

3. Data Security

All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Data is stored in encrypted, access-controlled databases.

4. Third-Party Services

Live darshan, katha and yoga streams are played from YouTube, and are subject to YouTube’s own terms and privacy policy. We use Google Firebase for anonymous analytics and crash reporting, and Expo’s notification service to deliver alerts. These services have their own privacy policies.

5. Your Choices and Deleting Your Data

Because we hold no account and nothing tied to your identity, there is no profile to log into, export or correct. You can uninstall the app at any time to remove the Device ID from your phone, turn notifications off in your device settings, or switch individual stream alerts off using the bell on each stream.

To have the records on our servers erased, see our Data Deletion Request page.

6. Users of Older App Versions

Versions of the app before 1.9.0 asked for a mobile number to sign in, and could store a name, date of birth and order history. If you used one of those versions, you may write to us to have that older data deleted.
