About Kedarnath Temple
One of the twelve Jyotirlingas and the most remote of the Char Dham, Kedarnath sits at 3,583 m in the Garhwal Himalayas, behind the Mandakini river. The temple opens only between Akshaya Tritiya and Bhai Dooj; for the remaining six months the deity is worshipped at Ukhimath. Pilgrims walk 16 km from Gaurikund to reach it.
